Outdoor Adventure Camp allows our growing campers to pursue adventure while retaining the comforts of staying at YMCA Mill Hollow. Campers will take on unique outdoor challenges off-site of camp in the Uinta Mountains Monday through Thursday, while returning to camp each night to enjoy dinner and evening program activities at YMCA Mill Hollow. Groups who hone their skills well over the week can also have a camp-out night near Mill Hollow!
Do you have a camper looking to get their feet wet? Our NEW Aquatic Adventure Camp is a well rounded week of water activities around the Uintas! During their week at camp, campers will go on four different excursions (canoeing, kayaking, and rafting) to become acquainted with a diverse selection of watercraft! Campers will have enjoy fun on the water during the day and return back to Mill Hollow each night for evening programs and the comfort of cabins.
Our Introduction to Rock Climbing program focuses on giving our campers the skills and confidence to climb! This program will be a blend of a few nights at Mill Hollow and two nights camping at Sun Rock High Adventure Foundation. Campers will join their counselors and experts from Sun Rock to spend 3 days climbing on natural rock faces. No equipment is required - we will provide the gear, and your camper will provide a thirst for adventure!
Our pack and paddle trip is an introductory excursion meant for those campers who love water and the joys of camping with new friends! Join your Mill Hollow counselors to enjoy a few days honing your water skills at camp then putting them to practice with a 3 day, 2 night pack and paddle camping trip to Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area!
Our Introduction to Backpacking program focuses on giving our campers the skills to backpack while in the front country at YMCA Mill Hollow on Sunday and Monday, while taking on a 3-day, 2-night beginner level backpacking trip Tuesday through Thursday. No equipment is required - we will provide the gear, and your camper will provide a thirst for adventure!
BOLD & GOLD Backpacking Trips develop the next generation of leaders as participants grow closer to nature, their peers, and themselves. As they backpack and day trip through the awe-inspiring Capitol Reef National Park and its surrounding forests, participants will experience and overcome challenge that helps them build strength, skills, and confidence for when they return to everyday life. This adventure will give participants the opportunity to make connections and memories that will last an entire lifetime. This trip comprises day and overnight backpacking hikes, allowing participants and staff to build a trip that perfectly fits the group and the available water sources in the park.
A perfect trip for beginner backpackers, BOLD & GOLD Backpacking Mirror Lake will surely make memories that will last a lifetime. Starting and ending at Mirror Lake, this backpacking loop will take participants on a journey touring the Highline, Duchesne, and Mirror Lake Trails. Hike along energizing rivers, sit with calming lakes, and marvel at majestic mountains with us as you immerse yourself in nature with this beautiful route.
BOLD & GOLD-- get ready to paddle! Teen participants will have a blast on this beautiful canoe trip to Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area! Participants will arrive to camp Sunday evening, have a canoe orientation near Mill Hollow Monday morning (previous canoe experience is recommended), then embark on a camping trip along the river Monday afternoon through Friday morning.
Experience a new BOLD & GOLD trip to the stunning and dramatic Red Castle Lakes. This challenging backpacking trip will strengthen your teen both physically and mentally as they not only work on their recreational skills but also learn leadership, resilience, and teamwork.
Explore the beauty of the Uinta Mountains on this scenic backpacking trip of a lifetime as you hike through the iconic "notch" of Notch Mountain. This winding trail offers the perfect opportunity to introduce your participant to experiencing nature in awe-inspiring remote settings. There are multiple forks along the route, allowing the participants and staff to handcraft a trip that perfectly fits the group, exploring the area's pristine lakes or summiting Bald Mountain!
Build your rock climbing skills with us as we climb the beautiful cliffs at Sun Rock High Adventure Base. Learn the fundamentals of outdoor rock climbing and belaying (and possibly rappeling depending on the group's skill level) as you enjoy sight-seeing from heights that will expand your perspectives. There are multiple levels of rock climbing at each site that will give your participant the perfect learning experience for their current skill level. The team will be joined by experts from Sun Rock to lead them through 3 days of climbing over the course of their week in the backcountry. Their "rest day" from climbing will enjoy an exciting nearby hike-- last year, the crew summitted Bald Mountain together.
Challenge yourself with this journey to summit Kings Peak, the tallest mountain peak in Utah! This trip is designed for intermediate or advanced participants who enjoy backpacking and want to reach new heights as they make lifelong memories together. The Kings Peak trip offers the perfect opportunity to try your hand at a more rigorous route with the full support of our BOLD & GOLD instructors and logistics team.

Can’t make it to YMCA Mill Hollow for camper drop-off or pick-up? That’s okay! We’ve got you covered. We run bus routes at the beginning and end of each week of camp. Drop-off and pick-up are located at Millcreek Elementary.
