Booking season for YMCA Camp Roger Yurts is:
Discover one of Utah’s best-kept winter secrets at the YMCA Camp Roger Yurts, located just off Mirror Lake Highway (Highway 150) near Kamas, Utah. Perfect for families, couples, and small groups, these cozy winter yurts offer the comfort of electricity and Wi-Fi surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Uinta Mountains. Whether you’re snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or simply sipping cocoa by the pellet stove, you’ll experience the magic of a Utah mountain getaway like no other.
Unlike many remote yurts in Utah, Camp Roger’s two yurts are easy to reach — just half a mile from winter road access. Park along Mirror Lake Highway, cross the Provo River (on snowshoes, skis, or snowmobile), and follow a short, scenic trail past the YMCA Camp Roger sign to your private yurt. You’ll feel miles away from it all yet still close to Kamas and Park City for dining, supplies, and local charm.
Each of our two yurts offers:
Electric power and free Wi-Fi (rare for Utah mountain yurts!)
A pellet stove with pellets provided to stay warm all night
Sleeping space for up to 12 guests - Six sturdy bunks hold twelve full-sized mattresses. Two of the bunks are pushed together to create two approximate “king-sized” beds.
Rustic, comfortable furnishings for your winter stay.
Note: There are no indoor bathrooms, but portable restrooms are conveniently located inside the Barn (just 50–60 yards away).
Use the Camp Roger Yurts as your basecamp for winter adventure:
Snowshoe and cross-country ski through scenic Uinta forest trails
Launch your snowmobile straight from the nearby parking area
Watch for wildlife like moose who frequent the area
Stargaze under Utah’s crisp, clear mountain skies
