PROVIDING CARE FOR ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES

The YMCA of Northern Utah is committed to serve our community during these unprecedented times.

One Utah, a program through DWS says "During the COVID-19 pandemic, essential employees, including health care workers and first responders, need a safe place for their children to receive child care allowing them to do their jobs to ensure the health and safety of Utahns. With the dismissal of schools and closures of some child care centers, One Utah Child Care has been created to connect essential employees in the health and public safety sectors only to a free and temporary network of emergency child care programs. Care will be available for children ages 0 thru 12 years old."

Our YMCA Community Family Centers in Salt Lake and Ogden have been approved to operate emergency childcare services for essential employees like policemen, firemen, first responders and medical personnel. These programs are open to any families that fall into these categories, not just to current YMCA participants or families. Registration is processed through the Department of Workforce Services (DWS). For more information, guidelines and protocols, please click here information directly from DWS.
