YMCA CAMP ROGER CAMPUS

At YMCA Camp Roger, we're well versed in having visitors on campus! In the past, we have hosted groups like:

LODGING

Each cabin has electricity, lights, bunk beds, mattresses, screened in windows. Bathrooms and showers are located in separate buildings located near the center of camp. Spaces that are available for rent include : Lodge with full commercial kitchen, 15 cabins that sleep 12 each, 1 split cabin with 8 on each side, Health Center (4 beds, private bathroom), Amphitheatre, Wi-Fi (for an additional fee).

AVAILABILITY

YMCA Camp Roger is available to rent starting in mid August after our summer season is over, through the month of October. Due to its location in the Uinta mountains, YMCA Camp Roger (with the exception of Yurts) closes for the season in November.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

For the last 75 years at YMCA Camp Roger kids develop outdoor skills in a structured small group setting. The goal here is for our campers to grow in independence, responsibility, and confidence as they are guided through the camp experience by hand-picked and trained staff. Each week's theme is designed to captivate youth in new and exciting ways, with a different theme game every week and a story that makes each week unique in its own way! In addition to traditional camps, we offer specialty camps that allow campers to grow in areas such as leadership development and horseback riding!

MEET THE DIRECTOR: JAKE GREEN

Jacob (Jake) Green first started working for the YMCA of Northern Utah in 2015 as the Archery Specialist at YMCA Camp Roger. The campers at the time most likely remember him for his “toe-shoes.” In the years since he first discovered camp he has filled in many roles at YMCA Camp Roger including Wasatch Unit Leader, Program Director/Kitchen Manager (in 2020 what a wild year,) and Assistant Director before becoming the full time Director in the fall of 2022. Although Jake discovered camp a little later in life the impact that it had on him was profound, and he stays actively engaged in the Y Overnight Camping Movement having recently helped with the Camp Inclusion Project’s work on Restorative Practices. Jake lives around the Salt Lake Valley spending time in Layton and Lehi, and spends most of his time listening to audiobooks while driving between those cities. While it has been awhile, he truly enjoys writing in his spare time and one of his life goals is to be a published author, however he can no longer imagine a life without camp in the summer.
