Camp Overview

Fun and adventure is guaranteed in a week of fantastic encounters with herds and flocks of all kids!  Immerse yourself for 5 days in the habitats of your favorite creatures as you travel to the Hogle Zoo, the Wasatch National Forest, Wasatch Mountain State Park, and other homes to critters large and small. See the magical world of the wild up close in personal by exploring diets, anatomies, and lifestyles of the animals in your own backyard. From those who rule the sky to those who burrow below your feet, no living thing will escape your quest to unlock the secrets of the animal kingdom. Whether it's a fish jumping in a pond or a bird taking flight in front of your eyes, you'll be sure to connect with the wonders of nature and release the beast within. Join the Y pack for this unforgettable week of Heber Day Camp!

Field Trips

Registration fees INCLUDE ALL FIELD TRIP COSTS. Transportation to all field trips is provided.

Monday: Explore YMCA Mill Hollow's trails to learn how to spot animal tracks, compare different homes of of our furry neighbors, and be a part of games exploring what a day in the life of an wild creature is like.
Tuesday: Visit the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City to learn about fantastic beasts from around the world.
Wednesday: Head up to YMCA Mill Hollow to build bird feeders for feathery friends, see what swims at the reservoir, and discuss the creatures preserved in the fossil bed.
Theme Thursday: Enjoy YMCA Camp Roger for a day of  expirements to understand the science behind how animals eat, see, and move.
Friday: Spend a morning fishing at Wasatch Mountain State Park before heading to the Wasatch Aquatic Center to swim like a fish.

Camp Details

Traditional Camp Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Drop off: 8:00am
Pick Up: 4:30pm 

Campers should bring their own sack lunch each day along with sunblock. A free breakfast and afternoon snack are offered for all camp participants. Tennis shoes should be worn every day. Sandals, towel, and swim suit should be packed each Friday.

Each week we have THEME THURSDAY where campers are welcomed to join staff in wearing a costume.
