YMCA EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

ENROLLMENT OPENS APRIL 1, 2025

At the Y, we recognize that high-quality early education is one of the best ways to ensure your child’s future success. Our Early Childhood Education programs provide a structured, friendly environment that fosters a child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. We use an evidence-based curriculum that provides 3-5-year-olds the opportunity to learn while they explore, create, and play.

Our high-quality program has proven results. Children who attend YMCA preschool programs see increased test scores, enter Kindergarten ready to learn and are often times ahead of other students in their classroom, show higher social-emotional competency, are better acclimated to school schedules, and tend to make friend faster when they get to school. Low teacher to students ratios (1:10) allow our highly qualified teachers to really understand the needs to your child and work with them (and you!) on an individual basis to ensure that each child can reach their fullest potential.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT MAKE YMCA PROGRAMS DIFFERENT:
  • Not only do we focus on typically preschool learning (numbers, letters, weather, colors, etc.) we are deeply committed to our preschoolers social-emotion health and character development.
  • Full-day and half-day programs are available with breakfast, lunch, & snacks included!
  • Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced in their fields.
  • Spanish speakers are available in each classroom.
  • We provide regular assessments of our participants and teacher conferences to discuss child development progress.
  • Financial assistance is available for families! Some families receive free to reduce programming up to 90% off! Connect with us here to find your rate.
IN Y PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN:
  • How to recognize letters in the alphabet, numbers, colors, weather, and holidays
  • The role of community helpers (police, fire department, medical personnel, etc.)
  • Social-emotional skills, self-control, how to understand their feelings and the feelings of others
  • Language skills, pronunciation, and sounds
  • Conflict resolution through play-based learning
  • Fine motor skills and impulse control
  • Why heathy eating and physical activity are important

Most of all, our programs provide a safe, inclusive environment for ALL children to learn, grow, and thrive.
