YMCA Hosts Camp Awards Breakfast- A Benefit for Kids on October 4, 2017

The YMCA of Northern Utah's Camp Awards Breakfast is one of its largest fundraising events, benefiting capital improvement projects and financial assistance programs for the Y's overnight summer camps

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (September 30, 2017) - The YMCA's Camp Awards Breakfast, A Benefit for Kids, is the YMCA of Northern Utah's primary fundraising event for its overnight summer camps, including Camp Roger and Camp Mill Hollow. This year's event celebrates our collective efforts in building a better community by supporting the growth of kids through the experience of camp. The event will take place on October 4th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Gallivan Hall in Salt Lake City.

In 2017, the YMCA's overnight summer camps served nearly 1,200 campers through their programs, providing up to $60,000 in financial assistance to 150 campers who would be unable to attend camp otherwise. Funds raised at the event will either assist in sending a kid to camp or help with improving the facilities at Camp Roger.

This year's event will feature a delicious breakfast and a fun-filled program that will include remarks from At Your Leisure's Reece Stein and the presentation of awards for Youth Leadership, Service, Community Partnership, and our new Counselor of the Year Award.

This year's awardees include Leigh Harris, Youth Leadership; Ken Flint, Service; Park City Community Church, Community Partnership; and Liliana Guzman, Counselor of the Year. The awards presentation is proudly sponsored by Delta, Beehive Insurance, Aetna, and GSBS Architects.
