Meet Our Staff

Rachel Jensen- Mill Hollow Program Manager

Rachel is originally from Houston, Texas. She moved to Utah in 2009 to attend Utah State University to study social work. Halfway through her degree she took two years off from school and went to Ontario, Canada to volunteer as a missionary for her church. Each summer in college Rachel worked for YMCA camps, two years at a teen day camp in Houston and two years at Camp Roger as a counselor and program director. After finishing her bachelor's degree in 2015 Rachel began working for the YMCA of Northern Utah as a Program Manager for Wasatch County.  She brings with her the strength and experience of not only her leadership experience at Camp Roger, but a strong knowledge in Day Camp Operations.  Her first year as a Program Director for Camp Roger Rachel exuded the skill and ability to lead a team and effectively organize camp operations to ensure that programming runs smoothly. She excelled in creating a unique and engaging summer camp program for the youth in Heber while supporting Camp Roger operations and is excited to build on the experience to continue to create new programs for future summers.


Gus Lopez-Noriega- Camp Roger Program Manager

Gus is originally from Boston MA, and moved to Utah May of 2014. He began working for Camp Roger in 2011.  His leadership skills and passion for youth development were quickly realized and within one summer Gus took on the duties of Program Director of Camp Roger.  Having had the opportunity to work under three directors at Camp Roger Gus has had the opportunity to learn and develop his own unique style that makes him a successful leader at Camp.  In 2015 Gus took on the role as Program Manager of Camp Roger and utilizing all that he has learned over 5 summers at Camp he managed one of the most successful summers Camp Roger has had in recent history.   He also was a site Coordinator for Eisenhower Junior high in Taylorsville UT, 2014-2015.  Gus is very out going and loves everything to do with Camp Roger.  He has returned to school to pursue a degree in business to continue to build his skills in camp operations.



Cristyna Galarza- Administration Manager

Cristyna was born in Tucson, AZ but grew up in Salt Lake City. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's in Anthropology/Archaeology in 2014. She got involved with the Y as a volunteer at our Community Family Center in Taylorsville, UT in 2011. She has been working as office manager for Salt Lake County since 2012. She gets to have the best of both worlds of supporting the communities and families served by the YMCA while pursuing her passion of Archaeology every year by participating in archaeological digs in Ireland and Ecuador.
